KDVR FOX31 and KWGN 2 "The Deuce"
So I have been researching and fact finding about what is going on over at the new media empire known as KDVR/KWGN. There are people who are not happy about the changes, and some that are vocally ( I use that term lightly ) expressing their frustration with the changes, but for the most part the changes have allowed for the two stations to target audiences and find a way to generate ad revenue in a difficult local advertisement environment. And yes more changes are coming to both stations, which I will touch on later in this article.
Both stations are reporting the strength of their primetime programming blocks. FOX is bringing back 87% of it’s primetime line up which makes it the number one network in terms of bringing back shows, and CBS is 2nd with about 80%, while it’s sibling network The CW ( with local affiliate KWGN 2 ” The Deuce” ) bringing back 70% of it’s line up which makes it 3rd out of all the broadcast networks. The one thing The CW will be lacking this fall is a Sunday programming line up that is going by the wayside in early September and it’s affiliates are picking up where they left off filling the night with syndicated fare like movies and off-network runs of Crime Drama’s.
So you have read this article thus far and are wondering what is going to be on FOX31 and KWGN in the Fall and even as I write this one of their new show’s debuted today. The Wendy Williams Show came in to the 2pm hour saying ” How you doin? “ and with guest star Vanessa Williams ( no relation ). She will be in that time slot through next year.
Here are the contenders for your eyeballs this fall.
Weekdays:
10am-11am: America’s Funniest Home Videos ( Channel. 2 )
1pm: Bonnie Hunt Show ( moves to Channel. 31 )
2pm: Wendy Williams Show (Already airing on Channel. 2 ) Marie Osmond Show ( Channel. 31 )
3pm: Tyra ( Channel 2 from 3-5pm because of The CW Daytime programming block ), Are you smarter then a 5th Grader? ( double episodes from 3-4pm )
Weeknights changes on KWGN as no changes have been mentioned at KDVR
5-6pm: My Name is Earl ( on Ch.2 Which will be back to back episodes in High Definition )
11pm: Everybody Loves Raymond
11:30: Friends
12am: Friends
12:30: Everybody Loves Raymond
1am-2am: Malcolm in the Middle ( Contrary to popular belief Malcolm is not leaving syndication )
Weekends will change a lot mostly because of The CW no longer programming Sunday evenings on KWGN.
Saturdays:
8 to 10pm: Legend of the Seeker will now be back to back episodes in HD
10pm-11pm: Brian McKnight Show
11pm-12am: TMZ Weekend
Sundays:
5-7pm: The Sunday Night Movie ( MGM )
7-9pm: Bones with back to back episodes
9-10pm: Cold Case Files
As this schedule reflects KWGN has no plans as of current to add weekend newscasts.
Next Up: KMGH , KCNC, KUSA-TV and KTVD

I wish they would air weekend local news on KWGN. And thanks for clearing up about Malcom the rest seems okay.
